dogmatik return with a brand new ep from one of the imprints leadinglights, maya jane coles. coles previous releases sick panda and the low key ep have seen her garnering support from the likes of thomas schumacher, audiofly, ivan smagghe and king roc whilst her band she is danger is hotly tipped as one to watch. on the remix we have afrilounges take on the track colours. the german trio, who have recorded for connaisseur, poker flat and 8bit, turn in a superb slice of tech house with a tight rhythm section and subtle building sonic layers.

as costello continues to look long, the grooves continue to flow. lng3 sees the reissue of the deep house classic pleite which originally appeared on trapez in 2003. recorded in dublin in 2002, this version has been mastered at dubplates and mastering, berlin in 2009. the results are stunning and serve as a welcome reminder of costelloÆs deep roots. pleite (costello dub) in particular could teach some of todayÆs hyperactive producers a thing or two about setting up a solid groove and letting it sit. the timing of this reissue could not be more perfect with regard to the current musical zeitgeist. the title, a german colloquialism for broke or indeed bankrupt which was an in-joke at the time of the original release, takes on a new significance in the context of global economic recession.

painkiller rec. was founded a year ago as a platform for the underground techno scene, now the label celebrates its first birthday with a new release, the hypno-toad ep , a four track ep featuring german techno master tobias lüke aka o.b.i. with two fresh tracks on logo side. info side by labelowners guillemotik and dj txuki, both very well respected artists in the spanish underground techno scene.

german tuff house producer tobias lutzenkirchen gives us his second release on baroque, in the form of this 4 track ep. 4 teasingly tasty slices of techno infused house music... slammin basslines and euphoric builds n drops are the order of the day here.

second release on important corestyle, the sister label of important hardcore records which concentrates on the more underground styles of hardcore... this time the label proudly presents 2 highly respected artists on one e.p.! on the a side two slammin tracks by north german top producer moleculez who is responsible for loads of kickin releases on top labels like the third movement, meta4, born ultraviolent and loads of more... the good man serves us two different tracks, which both will be highly appreciated by all lovers of hardcore! the flip side offers two tunes by stan grewzell (known for his releases on industrial strength). alluring ghosts is a rather slow (almost doomcore) track with a very recognazible synth sound and a marching bassdrum. mondmarsch is more industrial/dark/tech orientated.all in all, a stylistically conclusive e.p.

big with: richie hawtin, dubfire, dj hell, mandy, dj t, james what, ralph lawson... well what can we say, two tracks that could not be more different from well know mainz/ germany based artist butch aka bülent gürler. the a side >destruction< is a track that so perfectly fits into the scene of german minimal house, we think it will be eaten up immediately by the dj scene. the flipside track >muskatnuss< is more challenging and made for the advanced djs. this track is weird, funky, housey and more on the side of the new school of house we get nowadays from cecille and similar labels. the track makes use of samples from butchs most sought after sample libaries that include fantastic cartoon sounds he has cut up and arranged rhythmically. a stunning performance!

after a string of highly regarded releases on home label 20:20 vision, uk producer moodymanc aka danny wards strongly original sound and taste for the party has now brought his music to german shores…. his freakily percussive warehouse tool >preacher (bum bum drum dub)< recently featured on steve bugs bugnology 3 mix, and steve was so into moodymancs stylings he simply wanted more!! >snore (dubba dub)< is a finely crafted tribal edged beast, full with invigorating percussive elements, haunting vocal sustains and mancs now trademark dubba-dub stutters. its a roomfilling club tool, infused with the all buzz of a rio carnival, and indeed the warehouse jack of the uks rich northern club scene. switching musical zones slightly, but of course not compromising on quality, >next song< takes us into the darker, deeper and more playful of moodymancs acidic heritage. as a regular dj at the legendary back 2 basics club in leeds, this fellow certainly knows a thing or two about working the floor, and this cut will rock it with equal amounts of deepness and naughtiness! the original, more blissed-out version of ‚snore‘ is also included, which really shows off the musician skills behind wards productions. this real celebration of house is characterised by razor sharp percussion and tastefully soulful synth work, evolving and morphing into a dreamy yet energetic trip… quite a package!

first release for this new italian label, who claim to bring techno back to its top level. we re inclined to agree with those sentiments, as are the others who have received promos of the release. the a side consists of two deep and dark techno tracks, that should also find favour with more minimal djs. they are apparently by a popular northern european artist, going under the guise of ????. the label has kept such a secret that we dont even know who it is. on the b side, we have a soz adams (esperanza, archipel, gumption) remix of label head obtane and fris, which is a retro chicago style excursion, and german duo sebastian herre and obscure close the ep with a more detroit techno inspired track.
